Mathematizing Ontario Tech: Seeing Campus Through a Mathematical Lens

February 06, 2026

Display boards in Charles Hall

I/S Math Think Do students from the Fraser Faculty of Education present you with a new way to see Ontario Tech -- through a mathematical lens.

I/S students explored Ontario Tech, photographing spaces, structures, and moments that sparked mathematical curiosity. Then, our amazing students developed rich and creative mathematical questions inspired by what they noticed and photographed.

The result is Mathematizing Ontario Tech, a photo installation with mathematizing questions on the first floor of Charles Hall that invites the university community to pause, look closely, and engage with mathematics embedded in everyday campus life. Some of the questions are whimsical, and some don't have answers (yet). Visitors are encouraged to explore the photos, wonder about the questions they provoke, and contribute their own questions or ideas.
