The Teaching and Learning Centre is excited to announce the 2026-2028 Teaching Scholar in Residence Recipient - Dr. Eric Rapos!

Eric Rapos is an Associate Teaching Professor in Computer Science at Ontario Tech University. His scholarly and pedagogical interests include faculty development, STEM education, the use of games and play in learning, software support for educational practice, and emerging applications of AI in education.

He is the co-founder of the Let’s Play model of faculty development, an experiential, game-based approach that places instructors in the learner’s role to deepen empathy and insight into the student experience.

As an Ontario Tech Teaching Scholar in Residence, Eric will lead a two-year initiative using the Let’s Play framework to support Ontario Tech instructors in exploring engagement, inclusion, and feedback through facilitated play and guided reflection. Through a series of workshops and a sustained Community of Practice, Eric plans to foster innovative, evidence-informed teaching interventions aligned with Ontario Tech’s Learning Re-imagined priorities and will assess impact through participant reflections, surveys, and evidence of classroom application.
