For deferred examinations taking place online, please note that it is the student’s responsibility to check their ontariotechu.net student account and canvas, where their faculty will be contacting them directly to provide further details about how to access the online deferred examination.
Students registered with Student Accessibility Services (SAS) should contact the Test Centre ONLY for conflicts with their deferred schedule by emailing sastestcentre@ontariotechu.ca.

OSAP extension for the spring/summer 2025 term
OSAP students planning on taking full-time classes during the spring/summer semester (at least nine credit hours, or six credit hours for students with a disability) will need to complete an OSAP Extension Form after you've fully registered.
To find this form:
- Go to MyOntarioTech.
- Click on the Current Students box.
- In the Student Awards and Financial Aid box, select OSAP forms, then OSAP Extension Form.
Please note: Bachelor of Education (Concurrent or Consecutive) students will be emailed directly with the OSAP Extension Form link.

The final examination period for the Winter 2025 semester is Monday, April 7 to Wednesday, April 16. The emergency examination date (if required) will be Thursday, April 17. You're advised not to make commitments during this period.The deferred examination date(s) will be Wednesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 1.
Are you registered with Student Accessibility Services (SAS)? You must register through the Student Accessibility Services Portal by Monday, March 17 at 5 p.m. to use your accommodations.

Are you completing your program requirements at the end of the winter semester? The online application for winter 2025 graduates will be available through your MyOntarioTech account from Friday, January 31 until Friday, February 28.Important dates regarding fees

Important dates and deadlines
Your academic year at Ontario Tech University follows a schedule of important dates. You're responsible for knowing and meeting all deadlines found in the academic schedule, including fee payment dates and course add/drop dates.
Ucard and U-Pass information
- U-Passes are issued to eligible, full-time students through the PRESTO E-Tickets app each semester. Once distributed, an email will be sent to eligible students’ ontariotechu.net email address with further instructions.
- For more information regarding the U-Pass and how to access it, please visit our U-Pass web page.
Ontario Tech Ucard
- If you have not submitted your photo for use in your digital Ucard, visit our Ucard web page for instructions. Follow our photo upload requirements to avoid having your photo rejected.
- To access your digital Ucard, download the Ontario Tech mobile app, sign in using your network credentials and click on the Ucard tile.
Ucard Requirements for Exams
- Your digital Ucard can only be used as an ID for exams and tests when there is an accompanying photo. Without a photo, your digital Ucard is invalid and will not be considered an acceptable form of ID.
- A valid government-issued photo ID that is in English is another acceptable form of ID.

Note: Please arrive on campus no later than 30 minutes prior to closing hours, regardless of your estimated QLess wait time. If the Office of the Registrar closes at 4 p.m., you should be on campus no later than 3:30 p.m.
Printing on campus
- The printers on campus are available to all current students. For the most up-to-date instructions on how to install our printers on your device, visit the IT Services printing web page.
Default network password
Your default network password is your birth date in MMDDYY format. You must change it before you can access your student email (.net) account, Canvas and Wi-fi on campus.- Follow the instructions to reset your password.
- If you're not able to log in or have any questions, contact the IT Service Desk at 905.721.3333, option 1 or servicedesk@dc-uoit.ca.
Name/gender change
If you're seeking to update your legal name, preferred first name or gender, please complete the name/gender change form. The length of time to complete these requests is normally three working days. During peak times, processing times may be longer.

Health and wellness

In-course scholarships
In-course scholarships are awarded if you achieve a minimum 3.7 GPA (on a 4.3 scale) during your previous academic year. You must be returning to a full-time study.- $1,500 - 4.0+ GPA
- $1,000 - 3.7 to 3.99 GPA
Donor awards
There are a number of donor awards available to you. These awards are a valuable and lasting resource for many of our current students. Once you complete a General Bursary and Donor Award application, you'll be considered for funding. To apply, follow these steps:- Under Student Awards and Financial Aid, select apply for student aid/university works.
- Enter your network ID and password.
- Enter the applicable term and year, select continue.
- Select the General Bursary application from the drop-down menu, select continue.
Métis Nation of Ontario Bursary Application
The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Métis Student Bursary Program provides bursaries to registered students who are verified Métis citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario. Applicants will be required to consent to a citizenship verification check to confirm eligibility for these awards. Funding amounts of the bursaries are determined by the MNO, based on funding availability. If you have any questions, please direct all inquiries to: psesupport@metisnation.org.
