January 16, 2026

BIT building

After a very thorough search, IECS is happy to announce that we have successfully filled the position of Indigenous Programming Facilitator. This position was previously held by Jocelyne Pelletier, who transitioned into the role of Indigenous and Cultural Advisor this past April.

We would like to welcome Ryan Stevenson as our new Indigenous Programming Facilitator position. Ryan is a mixed Indigenous educator of Mohawk, Greek and Scottish descent and is a band member of Six Nations of the Grand River.  He brings a wealth of knowledge, experiences and skills having worked in different capacities and sectors, most recently supporting the Friendship Centre Movement across Ontario and Canada with the delivery of Trauma-Informed Care and Gender-Based Violence Prevention trainings and initiatives

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media, Information and Technoculture from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Education in Technological Education from Brock University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency at University of Toronto.

We are so excited to have Ryan join the IECS team. Ryan’s official start date is February 2, 2026.

 Welcome, Ryan!
